European Ambassadors Visit Tyre Disaster Management Unit
The ambassadors of Spain, Norway and Sweden, joined by a representative of Belgium’s ambassador and representatives of international organizations, visited the Union of Tyre District Municipalities to review humanitarian response efforts for displaced families.
Union President Hassan Dbouk and head of Disaster Management Unit Mortada Mhanna briefed the delegation on emergency operations, shelter management, needs assessments, aid distribution and challenges facing municipalities.
The delegation discussed priorities and ways to strengthen international coordination and humanitarian support.
It later toured the Disaster Management Unit’s operations room and visited a displacement shelter, where members met residents and reviewed living conditions and services provided.
The visit aimed to assess needs on the ground and support municipal efforts to respond to displacement across the Tyre area.
