Fake Facebook Page Claiming To Represent Minister
Minister of Labor Mohammed Haidar warned in a statement of a fake Facebook page using the minister’s name and photo and sending private messages to a number of people in an attempt to make them believe it was his personal page.
The office stressed that the page has no connection whatsoever to the minister or his office and is impersonating his identity, urging citizens and followers not to interact with it, respond to its messages or provide it with any personal information or data, and not to comply with any requests made through the page.
It said the matter had been referred to the competent Public Prosecution, which ordered legal action against those responsible for creating and operating the page. The Internal Security Forces’ Cybercrime Bureau has begun the necessary investigation to identify the individuals and entities behind the page and take legal action against them.
The office stressed that any communication, statement or request issued by the minister or his office is made exclusively through official and authorized channels, warning against being misled by any pages or accounts impersonating the minister or the Labor Ministry.
It also urged citizens and followers to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity linked to the page or to similar pages and accounts to the relevant authorities.
