Eighth round of talks eyed for early October
A senior Lebanese official told Al Markazia that discussions are underway to set a date for the eighth round of Lebanese-Israeli negotiations, under US auspices, with the talks strongly expected to take place in the first week of October.
Commenting on the message US President Donald Trump sent to President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday, praising his leadership of the country at this stage, the official said its significance lies mainly in its timing and content, which, albeit unintentionally, served to counter what he described as false and fabricated reports circulated in recent days.
