Daher in Baabda: Talks focus on Zahle files and regional developments and quarries set to reopen
MP Michel Daher met with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace, where they discussed the general situation in Lebanon amid rapid regional developments and the repercussions of the ongoing war in the region on the country’s political, economic and security situation.
The meeting addressed a number of domestic issues and challenges facing the state, as well as several matters concerning the Zahle district and the Bekaa, including ways to follow up on the area’s development and public service needs in a manner that strengthens the state’s presence and eases the burden on citizens.
As part of Daher’s follow-up on development and economic issues affecting the Bekaa, particularly the issue of quarries in villages east of Zahle, Aoun informed him that the government will decide to reopen the quarries in light of the Public Works and Transport Ministry’s need for aggregate materials to carry out its projects and works.
The meeting also stressed the importance of continued coordination and follow-up on issues concerning Zahle and the Bekaa, and of turning development demands into practical measures that strengthen the state’s role and support local communities at this critical stage.
