Rubio: What Has Been Achieved Between Lebanon and Israel Is Unprecedented
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted, “We have made some progress in the Middle East. What we have achieved diplomatically between Lebanon and Israel is unprecedented. President Joseph Aoun visited us a week ago, and I believe that was the first visit by a Lebanese president in about 30 years.”
He added, “In fact, this is the first time in nearly 30 years that the Lebanese and Israeli governments have spoken at the official level, and that was thanks to the leadership of President Donald Trump. There is still a lot of work to be done to maintain and build upon this peace, but it is a real achievement.”
