President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, said on the occasion of Army Martyrs' Day: On this day, we stand in reverence before the memory of the martyrs of our national army, who gave their lives in sacrifice for Lebanon's sovereignty, the unity of its land, and the dignity of its people. They were men who believed that the homeland deserved the greatest sacrifices. They walked the path of duty without hesitation, and wrote, with their blood the noblest chapters of heroism and belonging.
President Aoun added: The martyrs of the Lebanese Army are not mere numbers to be forgotten with the passage of time. They are a living symbol of loyalty and sacrifice, and a model for every soldier who wears the military uniform today in defense of the nation's borders, its institutions, and the security of its citizens. Their memory is a trust we carry, and our gratitude to them can only be fulfilled by preserving the values for which they gave their lives: a free, sovereign, and independent Lebanon.
Aoun concluded: On this occasion, I reaffirm before the families of the martyrs and before all Lebanese that the Lebanese state remains faithful to its pledge, committed to caring for the families of the fallen and preserving their legacy. Their memory will forever remain a beacon guiding us on the path of building the nation and supporting its military institution, which embodies the unity of all Lebanese. Glory to our martyrs, eternal remembrance to their memory, and honor to our Army, the nation's faithful guardian.
