Information Minister Dr. Paul Morcos received a British delegation from the Government Communication Service International (GCSI) at his ministry office, including Victoria Dunne, Deputy Head of Mission and Development Director at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, alongside a representative of the media office of the Ministry of State for Administrative Development.
The visit focused on assessing government communications in Lebanon and exploring opportunities to strengthen local capacities, improve communication practices and organize joint training workshops.
Separately, Morcos met a delegation comprising Amal Al-Saneh, Director of the Tammouz Center for Studies and Training on Citizenship; former Constitutional Council President Issam Sleiman; and Dr. Adonis Akra.
Speaking after the meeting, Akra said the delegation had presented a proposal to establish a civil state in Lebanon that embraces all religions as an alternative to the existing sectarian system.
He added that the delegation had requested the minister’s patronage of a national conference aimed at formally launching the initiative.
