Touch Unveils Digital Onboarding Service

  • Wed October 21 2026 1:40 pm

Lebanese mobile operator Touch announced that it had presented Telecommunications Minister Charles Hajj with a live demonstration of its new Digital Onboarding service, which will allow customers to purchase and activate prepaid eSIMs directly through the company’s mobile application without visiting customer service centers.

In a statement, Touch said the service represents a significant step toward digital transformation in Lebanon’s telecommunications sector, enabling users to complete the entire subscription process, from selecting a mobile number to activating their line, through their smartphones.

The process incorporates security and identity verification measures, including facial recognition, passport scanning and electronic signatures on digital contracts.

Minister Hajj congratulated Touch’s management on the initiative, describing it as a tangible step toward modernizing telecommunications services and facilitating access for Lebanese residents and expatriates.

He stressed that protecting subscribers’ personal data and privacy remains a top priority, urging the company to maintain strict security and confidentiality standards.

Hajj also instructed Touch to accelerate the updating of subscriber information, describing it as an essential prerequisite for enabling mobile numbers to serve as verified identifiers for additional digital services.

He expressed hope that all telecommunications services and administrative transactions, including those between the ministry and Touch, would eventually become fully digital.

Touch Chairman and General Manager Karim Salim Salam reaffirmed the company’s commitment to innovation and information security, emphasizing that the initiative places subscribers at the center of the digital experience.

He also praised the company’s team for developing the service within a short timeframe.

Touch said the Digital Onboarding service would be launched soon, supporting Lebanon’s national digital transformation agenda and the development of a sustainable digital economy.
