Salameh from Erbil Citadel
Culture Minister Ghassan Salameh visited the historic Erbil Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during his visit to the Kurdistan Region to participate in the Erbil International Book Fair.
Upon his arrival, Salameh was received by Falah Hassan, Head of the High Commission for the Revitalization and Development of Erbil Citadel in the Kurdistan Regional Government.
During a tour of the citadel, the two sides discussed ways to preserve and revitalize archaeological sites, as well as mechanisms to strengthen their cultural and social roles, ensuring their sustainability and accessibility for future generations.
Salameh stressed that preserving heritage means preserving collective memory, praising the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts to safeguard the historic landmark.
