Head of Lebanon's Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority Reveals Details to MFM on US Flights to Lebanon
The head of Lebanon's Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority Mohammad Aziz announced that Lebanon is technically ready to receive US airlines, but they have stricter security requirements than other carriers. Security screening will also be more stringent by local authorities, and two or three airport gates can be designated to implement enhanced security procedures before passengers board the aircraft.
Speaking to MFM, Aziz said the technical aspect of the project will require about two months before flights can begin operating. Airlines plan their schedules according to two seasonal timetables each year, and we are waiting for carriers willing to add these additional flights.
Aziz added that direct flights would reduce travel time between the two countries by about four hours. The aircraft currently available can serve all US states, and the savings would also extend to ticket prices.
