After the Israeli military's statement, the Lebanese Army responds
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement:
The Army Command confirms that military units completed their deployment inside the town of Zawtar El Gharbiyeh after the necessary coordination and communication with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L). The units did not enter the town of Zawtar El Charqiyeh.
The command clarified that Israeli forces approached the outskirts of Zawtar El Gharbiyeh while Lebanese Army personnel were inside the town carrying out the deployment mission and opened fire in their vicinity, putting the soldiers at risk and obstructing the execution of their assigned mission.
The Army Command stressed that the Israeli military should address any issues through the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L) and the established coordination and communication channels, rather than carrying out attacks.
