Israeli Army Warns Lebanese Army: “Avoid Putting Your Forces at Risk”
The Israeli army announced that: “Earlier today, forces operating in the safe area in southern Lebanon detected a Lebanese Army unit, including an engineering vehicle, that advanced 150 meters into the safe area, breaching barriers in the area of Zawtar El Charqiyeh, in violation of the understandings between the two sides. Israeli army forces operating at the site fired warning shots into the air, without endangering Lebanese Army personnel, in order to push them back. The unit left the area without any casualties.”
It added: “The area entered by the Lebanese Army unit is not among the areas covered by the pilot project. We call on the Lebanese Army to continue adhering to the understandings and operating according to the agreed-upon areas, noting that any crossing beyond them without prior coordination could endanger its forces.”
