Rehabilitation and Paving Works On The Dahr al-Baydar Road To Resume Early Tuesday
The Directorate General of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, through one of its contractors, will resume rehabilitation and paving works on the Damascus International Road between the Sawfar interchange (Hammana junction) and the Dahr al-Baydar police station, starting Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 5 am to 4 pm daily until the works are completed.
Accordingly, the Directorate General of Internal Security Forces will implement the following traffic measures:
Trucks and pickup vehicles will be banned from using the road in both directions (uphill and downhill) during the aforementioned hours. They will be allowed to pass in both directions from 4 pm to 5 am throughout the construction period.
Cars from the Bekaa toward Beirut will be allowed to pass, with only one lane of the Beirut-bound carriageway closed, starting at the Dahr al-Baydar checkpoint.
Vehicles heading toward the Bekaa will be prohibited from passing from the Mdeirej highway, with traffic diverted via the internal Sawfar road, then toward Hammana, Tarchich, Kfarselwan and Zahle, throughout the construction period from 5 am to 4 pm daily.
Citizens are urged to take note of these measures and follow the instructions and guidance of Internal Security Forces personnel, as well as the traffic signs installed at the site, to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.
