Will bakeries' Union join Tuesday and Wednesday’s strike?
After reports circulated that the bakeries' Union would join the unions’ strike scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Head of the Syndicate of Bakeries and Bakeries Unions in Lebanon Nasser Srour told the National News Agency that bakeries would not take part in the strike, stressing that bakeries are committed to ensuring that citizens have access to bread and that bread is non-negotiable.
Srour said: As long as diesel, flour, wheat and all the materials needed to produce bread are available, bakeries will continue to operate normally, despite incurring significant losses due to the rise in diesel prices.
