Jaber signs draft decree reversing import fee hike to support Lebanese industry
Finance Minister Yassine Jaber signed a draft decree canceling increased fees on imports covered by tariff codes 322 and 522 under Decree 3754 of August 27, 2026, and referred it to the Cabinet General Secretariat.
The measure restores previous customs rates for qualifying industrial importers.
Jaber said the move aims to lower production costs, support Lebanese manufacturers, strengthen competitiveness and ultimately reduce prices for consumers, while balancing public revenue needs with support for productive sectors and job creation.
