Bisat, UAE sign MoU to boost Trade and investment cooperation
Economy and Trade Minister Amer Bisat and UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade and investment and advancing the economic partnership between Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.
The two sides said the MoU represented a practical step toward translating the longstanding historical and economic ties between the two countries into deeper government cooperation.
Al Zeyoudi described his visit to Lebanon as successful, saying it had allowed both sides to explore new sectors and opportunities for trade and investment cooperation, while laying the groundwork for clearer channels of coordination between government entities and broader opportunities for the private sector and business councils.
He highlighted support for key sectors, including energy, technology and logistics.
Bisat said the MoU reflected a shared determination to elevate Lebanese-Emirati relations toward a deeper and more integrated economic partnership.
He stressed that Lebanon possessed significant potential that could be converted into sustainable growth through reform, a stronger role for the private sector and expanded partnerships with Arab countries, particularly the UAE.
The MoU forms part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral economic cooperation on the basis of mutual interests and create new opportunities benefiting both economies and people.
