Lebanon Battles a Wave of Fires, Civil Defense on the Ground
The Lebanese Civil Defense extinguished a number of fires that broke out across several areas in Lebanon, with teams from various centers deployed to contain the blazes.
In the Bekaa, Civil Defense teams put out fires that broke out in the forests of Mekseh, Mrayjat, Jdita and Qob Elias. During firefighting operations in Mekseh, the teams rescued three women and moved them to a safe location after their home was engulfed in heavy smoke from the fire.
Firefighters also brought under control a blaze in Joub Jannine in West Bekaa, as well as fires in wooded areas along the Deir El Mkhalles–Besri road and in Mazraat El Dahr and Zaarouriyeh in the Chouf.
Throughout the operations, Civil Defense teams worked to contain the flames, prevent them from spreading to surrounding areas and continue monitoring the sites to ensure the fires do not reignite.
