Deputy Head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib congratulated Muslims and Lebanese citizens on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, calling for the values of unity, morality and perseverance to be drawn from the Prophet’s life.
Al-Khatib urged the Islamic world to move beyond a state of submission and surrender and build alliances capable of reshaping political policies and maps, saying that its resources and capabilities qualify it to play such a role.
He said the occasion should serve as an opportunity to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life in confronting challenges and addressing crises, particularly in light of the Palestinian issue and its repercussions on Lebanon and the Arab and Islamic worlds.
Al-Khatib criticized what he described as the authorities’ defeatist approach, arguing that abandoning sources of strength and relying on direct negotiations had only resulted in further failure and disappointment. He stressed the importance of resilience and confronting challenges based on what he called the power of truth.
He concluded by extending his congratulations on the Prophet’s birthday and wishing peace and prosperity to Muslims and humanity as a whole.
