President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, extended greetings to the Lebanese people, in general, and Muslims, in particular, on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, saying: The anniversary of the Prophet's birthday comes this year as Lebanon faces serious challenges, including repeated Israeli attacks on its sovereignty, territory and people in the south and other areas, as well as economic and livelihood crises that continue to weigh heavily on its citizens. Yet, this unifying spiritual occasion reminds us that the foundations upon which it was built- values of fraternity, tolerance and coexistence- are the same values that have always formed the bedrock of Lebanese national accord and the pact of coexistence among its diverse components.
President Aoun called on the Lebanese to ‘’draw inspiration from the prophetic teachings of patience, steadfastness and unity, in confronting the aggression targeting the country, as well as in the process of rebuilding a strong and just state capable of protecting all its citizens without discrimination.
President Aoun concluded by stressing that: national unity remains our strongest shield in the face of all challenges.
