Retired military protest salary installments
Retired military and civil service personnel held a sit-in at the Jabal Roundabout in Douris, Baalbek, followed by a protest outside the Ministry of Finance office in Douris, to voice their rejection of the installment-based payment of six months of outstanding salaries owed to employees and retirees.
The protesters threatened to escalate their actions, including blocking roads, and called for the release of school grants for retired members of the Internal Security Forces. They also rejected the payment of the salaries’ retroactive amounts in installments.
