Aoun receives MP Kanaan
President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received MP Ibrahim Kanaan, head of the parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee, at Baabda Palace.
I affirmed my support for the President of the Republic's steps and positions in Washington, considering them bold choices to save Lebanon and complete the roadmap to end the war, restore the land and the state, rebuild the country, and strengthen the army,’’ saying protecting the Lebanese begins with protecting their state and stopping the cycle of destruction and the violation of Lebanon's sovereignty.
MP Kanaan added: Our message is the message of Blessed Patriarch Elias Howayek: the Lebanon of the future—pluralistic and sovereign over its entire territory of 10,452 square kilometers.
Kanaan concluded: Tomorrow, we will put the final touches on the Banking Reform Law. I briefed the President of the Republic on the positive atmosphere aimed at restoring the confidence of depositors and investors. We legislate to protect rights, not interests.
