A Syrian child, identified as Omar Hammoud, born in 2011, died from injuries sustained in a serious road accident involving a collision between two motorcycles on the Daher Al Ain road near the Actel junction.
The Lebanese Red Cross responded to the scene and transported the child in critical condition to Koura Hospital for treatment, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the accident, a patrol from the North Investigation Unit arrested a Syrian national identified as “F.H.” in the Abba area of Koura. The suspect, who was reportedly driving one of the motorcycles involved, had fled the scene after the collision.
The arrest was carried out less than an hour after the suspect fled, and he was taken in for questioning as legal procedures were initiated against him.
