Army: Israeli occupation forces continue their violations of the existing understandings
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
“Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks and violations of the existing understandings and international laws through the systematic destruction and demolition of homes, as well as shelling and machine-gun fire in several southern areas, including Kfar Tebnit – Nabatieh, Haddatha and Kounine – Bint Jbeil, Nabaa Al-Saqi, Mansouri, Beit Al-Sayyad and Majdal Zoun – Tyre.
These violations also include the seizure of rubble in border areas, the blowing up of the water project belonging to the Litani River National Authority in the town of Markaba – Marjayoun, and the burning of centuries-old olive trees and large agricultural areas, most recently on the outskirts of Aitaroun – Bint Jbeil.
This is taking place alongside gunfire near army positions in Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa and Western Zawtar, which is hindering the army’s ability to carry out its missions.
Meanwhile, the army continues to facilitate the return of residents to the town of Western Zawtar and is carrying out its duties there to ensure citizens’ safety. It is also carrying out missions in the areas of Froun and Srifa, in coordination with the Multinational Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L), while continuing its operations across other southern areas.
The continuation of these attacks is hindering the completion of the army’s deployment in accordance with the existing understandings, preventing residents from returning to their villages and towns, and obstructing efforts to establish stability in the south.”
