Cool Weekend Ahead for Lebanon

  • Sat July 25 2026 1:24 pm

The Meteorological Department at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has forecast that Sunday's weather will be partly cloudy, with a further slight drop in temperatures, bringing them below seasonal averages. Dense fog is expected to form over mountainous areas, while light scattered showers are likely before noon, particularly in northern Lebanon, accompanied by active winds. Skies will become mostly clear by the evening.

The weather bulletin added:

General situation: Relatively mild summer weather will prevail across Lebanon over the next two days, with temperatures remaining around seasonal averages due to the influence of a weak low-pressure system centered southwest of Turkey. The system will lead to lower temperatures and localized weather fluctuations from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon, accompanied by active winds and lower humidity along the coast, easing the feeling of heat.

Temperatures are expected to rise again at the beginning of next week, particularly in mountainous and inland areas.

Expected weather in Lebanon:

Saturday: Partly cloudy with temperatures decreasing, especially over the mountains and inland areas, returning to seasonal averages. Humidity levels will drop along the coast, reducing the feeling of heat. Fog will begin forming over mountainous areas in the afternoon, while winds will become active, causing wave heights to increase. Light drizzle is expected overnight Saturday into Sunday, particularly in northern regions.

Light scattered showers are expected before noon, particularly in northern Lebanon, accompanied by active winds. Skies will become mostly clear by evening.

Monday: Mostly clear, with temperatures rising again, especially over the mountains and inland areas, returning to seasonal averages.

Tuesday: Mostly clear with a further increase in temperatures, particularly over the mountains and inland areas, where they are expected to exceed seasonal averages. Humidity will rise along the coast, increasing the feeling of heat.
