Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani held a phone call with Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadli to discuss expanding agricultural cooperation and follow-up measures related to Saudi Arabia’s decision to reopen its market to Lebanese agricultural products.
Hani welcomed the move, describing it as a strategic boost for Lebanon’s agricultural sector and a significant opportunity for farmers, rural communities and bilateral trade. He also expressed appreciation to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Lebanon.
The two ministers agreed to hold a virtual meeting between relevant officials and to convene the Lebanese-Saudi Joint Agricultural Committee in the near future. Al-Fadli stressed the importance of full compliance with Saudi technical, health and phytosanitary standards, emphasizing that quality and safety remain essential to sustaining and expanding agricultural trade between the two countries.
