Beirut Municipality's Public Relations Department said in a statement:
“Following directives from Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, the Beirut City Guard carried out a campaign to remove a number of unoccupied makeshift tents within the municipality's jurisdiction near Summerland. These tents had been erected during the displacement period and were removed after their occupants left and returned to their home areas.
At the same time, efforts are continuing to remove vacant tents set up on Beirut Municipality-owned properties in the Biel area after they were vacated by their occupants. Technical teams from Beirut Municipality are carrying out the work with the support of members of the Beirut City Guard.
These measures are part of Beirut Municipality’s ongoing efforts to reorganize municipal properties and maintain public safety, contributing to the restoration of the capital’s urban landscape.”
