Building partially collapses, injuring excavator driver
An excavator operator was injured and sustained various bruises and fractures after part of a neighboring building collapsed next to a structure that had already fallen on Syria Street in the Tabbaneh area of Tripoli, during debris removal and clearing operations at the site.
The National News Agency reported that parts of the cracked building fell onto the excavator while it was working, injuring the driver, while what was described as “divine providence” prevented a larger disaster.
Emergency teams provided first aid to the injured man before transferring him to a hospital in Tripoli for further treatment. A state of caution and anticipation prevailed in the area amid fears of additional collapses in nearby buildings.
