Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, received Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Tom Wilson, at his Yarzeh office.
The discussions touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the challenges it is facing, as well as on a number of regional issues of mutual interest and their implications for the Middle East and Lebanon.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Australia and the need to continue developing them across various fields, commending the role played by the Lebanese Diaspora in Australia in strengthening ties between the two countries and its active contribution to Australian society.
For his part, the Australian ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and its institutions, stressing the importance of maintaining stability and strengthening the existing partnership between the two countries.
Minister Menassa also met with a delegation representing the families of military martyrs, with discussions touching on their daily living and social conditions.
