Bassil, Qatari ambassador discuss Lebanon’s stability and regional developments
Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, met with Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in the presence of Dr. Tarek Sadek, to discuss political developments and regional and international issues affecting Lebanon and the wider region.
Talks highlighted Qatar’s role in supporting regional stability, particularly diplomatic efforts aimed at consolidating a ceasefire in Lebanon, reducing tensions and promoting dialogue in the Gulf region through mediation and political solutions.
Discussions also focused on preserving Lebanon’s stability, strengthening state institutions and addressing ongoing security and economic challenges, with emphasis on respecting Lebanese sovereignty and implementing international resolutions.
Bassil praised Qatar’s continued political, humanitarian and developmental support for Lebanon, stressing the importance of sustained regional and international coordination to safeguard stability and prevent further escalation.
For his part, Ambassador Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and working with regional and international partners to promote security, stability and dialogue as the preferred path to resolving crises.
