Education Minister Rima Karami and Saudi Deputy Education Minister Enas Al-Issa signed a five-year renewable cooperation agreement in Riyadh aimed at strengthening educational, scientific and research collaboration between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
The agreement provides for exchanges of academic delegations, research cooperation, training opportunities, mutual recognition of academic qualifications, university partnerships and scholarship programs.
Karami said the accord reflects the commitment of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to strengthening ties with Arab countries, describing Lebanon’s relationship with Saudi Arabia as exceptional.
During her visit, Karami also toured leading Saudi educational institutions, including the National Institute for Educational Professional Development, the National Curriculum Center and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, where discussions focused on curriculum development, teacher training, quality assurance and future academic cooperation. The agreement is expected to pave the way for a broader package of Lebanese-Saudi bilateral accords.
