Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar chaired a meeting of the Central Internal Security Council to review the country’s security situation amid continued Israeli attacks and discuss measures aimed at preserving stability.
Al-Hajjar opened the session by paying tribute to members of the security forces, military and civil defense who were killed while carrying out their duties during the war.
The council assessed the overall security landscape and decided to maintain and strengthen preventive security measures across the country. Discussions also focused on security preparations for Ashura commemorations and ensuring full coordination among all relevant agencies.
Participants reviewed traffic management measures in Beirut and its entrances, with Al-Hajjar calling for intensified deployment of security personnel, improved traffic flow and stricter enforcement against motorcycle violations.
The minister reaffirmed that safeguarding internal stability remains a top security priority and stressed the importance of continued coordination among all security institutions to protect citizens and maintain public order.
