Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met former Prime Minister Najib Mikati, at Ain el-Tineh with whom he discussed the latest political, security and field developments amid the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, as well as other national affairs.
Berri also held talks with Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine on the situation of Lebanon’s healthcare, hospital and emergency sectors in light of continued Israeli strikes targeting southern Lebanon, including attacks on ambulance teams and medical facilities.
Following the meeting, Nassereddine described the current period as difficult, citing continued attacks on civilians and health infrastructure. He said he briefed Berri on measures taken by the Health Ministry to support hospitals, medical services and displaced families, while stressing the need for a comprehensive ceasefire on land, at sea and in the air, along with an end to Israeli attacks and a full withdrawal.
Separately, Berri received Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert on a farewell visit marking the end of her mission in Lebanon.
