Following a meeting with President Joseph Aoun, MP Ibrahim Kanaan said the president’s position represents the cornerstone for confronting challenges and preserving national stability.
Kanaan stressed that Lebanon’s future lies in building a strong and capable state, arguing that the protection of citizens can only be guaranteed through robust state institutions rather than competing models of governance.
He described the Lebanese Armed Forces as the backbone of any national security guarantee, emphasizing that strengthening the army and enhancing its capabilities must remain a top priority. He added that military readiness requires tangible political, financial and operational support, not merely public statements.
Kanaan also noted that the continuation of legislative work despite ongoing pressures and challenges demonstrates Lebanon’s determination to move forward with state-building efforts and institutional reforms.
