Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar chaired a coordination meeting as part of ongoing preparations for the operation of Rene Moawad Airport.
The meeting brought together representatives of the security agencies operating at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, customs officials, and Sky Lounges Services Chairman Ziad Monla.
Discussions focused on the security, operational and logistical requirements of the project. Participants reviewed the airport layout prepared by the operating company and examined technical and security observations submitted by the relevant agencies, drawing on experience gained from managing and operating Beirut airport.
Al-Hajjar stressed the importance of integrating all security requirements throughout every stage of the project, emphasizing that security remains a fundamental pillar of airport operations and safety.
The meeting also addressed the next steps, including field inspections and technical assessments, with a follow-up meeting scheduled for next week to continue coordination and finalize the necessary procedures.
