Why Was the Jounieh Highway Expansion Project Delayed?
Member of the Jounieh Municipal Council and head of the Tourism Committee Fadi Fayad explained via MFM the reason for the delay in implementing the Jounieh highway expansion project. He said: “The contractor who won the tender no longer wants to carry it out for private reasons related to his company. A new tender document will be issued, and we will immediately proceed to implementation afterward.”
Fayad also confirmed that “the expansion of the international highway passing through the city of Jounieh will happen,” adding: “We are in contact with the Council for Development and Reconstruction and the Ministry of Public Works through regular meetings to achieve this and solve the traffic congestion problem for all Lebanese people, not just the residents of the area.”
He stressed that “there will be absolutely no leniency with violators.”
