Unstable June Weather Continues, Sea Conditions Raise Caution
The Forecasting Department at the Meteorology Service of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation expected that tomorrow the weather will be partly cloudy with dense fog over the middle elevations in the morning, with no significant change in temperatures on the coast, while they will drop slightly over the mountains and inland. It will turn mostly clear in the afternoon.
The bulletin stated the following:
General situation: A relatively stable and humid spring weather pattern is affecting Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean basin, with temperatures within seasonal averages until Sunday, when the region’s highlands will be affected by relatively cold air masses.
Note: Average temperatures for June: Beirut between 22 and 30°C, Tripoli between 21 and 29°C, and Zahle between 16 and 32°C.
Warning: Risk of sea currents and rising waves on Sunday and Monday.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Thursday: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with no significant change in temperatures on the coast, while temperatures decrease over the mountains and inland. Fog forms over mid-level elevations in the morning and evening.
Friday: Partly cloudy with dense fog over mid-level elevations in the morning, and no significant temperature change on the coast, while a slight decrease occurs in the mountains and inland. It becomes mostly clear in the afternoon.
Saturday: Mostly clear with no significant change in temperatures, fog in the evening over the highlands, and active winds especially in the north.
Sunday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with fog over the highlands and a drop in temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland, falling below seasonal averages. Winds will strengthen, particularly in the north, raising sea waves.
Expected temperatures: Coast between 19 and 28°C, mountains between 11 and 23°C, inland between 14 and 30°C.
Surface winds: Southwesterly, 8 to 25 km/h.
Visibility: Good on the coast, deteriorating in the mountains due to fog.
Relative humidity: 65–85% on the coast.
Sea conditions: Calm. Sea surface temperature: 24°C.
