The judicial proceedings over the armed Burj Abi Haidar incident on Sept. 12 have expanded.
MTV learned that Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Claude Ghanem has so far charged eight people and requested that they be prosecuted.
According to MTV sources, Ghanem charged Mohammad Fathi, a serviceman, Omar Mashhour al-Khoder, and Jamal Seifeddine Saado for allegedly opening fire with unlicensed military weapons and an official-issue firearm belonging to the first defendant, resulting in the deaths of Seifeddine Saado and Rabih al-Masri.
As the investigation expanded, Ghanem also charged Mohammad Menaymaneh, Ali al-Zein, Abdel Hamid Bashir Madani and Adel Qamihah with allegedly opening fire with unlicensed weapons in the Burj Abi Haidar area and killing Seifeddine Saado and Rabih al-Masri.
He also charged Abdullah Mustafa with allegedly concealing Omar al-Khoder’s weapon after the crime.
