Syria foils smuggling attempt along border with Lebanon
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that units of the Syrian Arab Army’s Border Guard Forces foiled a smuggling attempt along the Syrian-Lebanese border in the Jurd al-Maara area of Yabroud in the Damascus countryside.
The ministry told SANA: “During the operation, the smugglers opened fire on the patrol, prompting the forces to return fire and triggering an exchange of fire that ended with the seizure of two vehicles and their cargo, as well as the arrest of one of the smugglers. The others fled toward Lebanese territory.”
