The new Iraqi ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Reda al-Husseini, arrived at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport at noon today as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Lebanese Republic, where he is set to present his credentials and assume his diplomatic duties in Lebanon.
Ambassador al-Husseini was accorded an official diplomatic reception at the airport’s VIP lounge. He was welcomed by Lebanese Foreign Ministry representative, Consul Tawfiq Matta, along with a number of Arab ambassadors and chargés d’affaires accredited to Lebanon.
Attending the reception had been Qatari Ambassador Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, UAE Ambassador Salem Fahad Al Kaabi, Yemeni Ambassador Abdullah Abdul Karim al-Duais, Jordanian Ambassador Walid al-Hadid, Palestinian Ambassador Mohammad al-Assaad, and Sudanese Ambassador Ahmad Hassan.
Also present were Egyptian Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Mahmoud Hamdi, Iraqi Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Nada Majoul, Algerian Embassy foreign affairs official Mohammad Titoum, Omani Embassy Counsellor Salem al-Barrak, and Tunisian Embassy Counsellor Hamdi Ben Othman.
Speaking on behalf of the Arab ambassadors and chargés d’affaires accredited to Lebanon, the Yemeni ambassador welcomed the new Iraqi ambassador and wished him success in carrying out his new diplomatic duties in Lebanon.
