Fadel Chaker's Health Is Deteriorating... Will He Be Released?
MTV has learned that artist Fadel Chaker’s health is deteriorating due to symptoms of diabetes and heart disease, from which he has long suffered.
According to inside sources, requests to release him for medical treatment have repeatedly been denied, despite medical reports confirming the severity of his condition and his need for treatment in suitable conditions.
The lack of a decision and the delays are affecting his health and depriving Chaker of his right to appropriate medical care. It should be noted that Chaker turned himself in, placing his trust in the Lebanese judiciary due to his confidence in the new era free from partisan influence; therefore, there is no legal reason preventing the court from granting his release, given that he has served less than one full year in prison, falling one month short.
It should be noted that Fadel’s innocence was recently proven by the testimony of three officers who were responsible for the security files on which the artist was charged; their testimony was in his favor and in the interest of justice.
In this context, exclusive sources confirmed to MTV that Fadel has not undergone any general medical examinations nor visited a hospital over the past 13 years, which necessitates holding those involved accountable for their legal responsibilities, free from any interference or politicization.
