Lebanon’s Health Ministry said it was closely monitoring developments related to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, following the World Health Organization’s declaration of the situation as a public health emergency of international concern.
In a statement, the ministry said it is coordinating daily with the World Health Organizationregarding any recommendations or health measures issued in line with the evolving epidemiological situation.
The ministry also stressed the importance of strengthening epidemiological surveillance measures in healthcare institutions, noting that no international recommendations have so far been issued to impose travel or trade restrictions or adopt special measures at border crossings.
