A convoy of 18 trucks loaded with relief and medical aid arrived at the Al-Masnaa border crossing, as part of the humanitarian corridor launched by Jordanian King Abdullah II to provide emergency support to the Lebanese people in the affected areas.
The convoy was received by Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Abdul Rahman Al-Hadid, and Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Miguel de Lucas Miguel de Lucas, along with the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Brigadier General Bassam Al-Naboulsi, and a delegation from the Commission, in addition to representatives of international organizations and security agency leaders.
In his delivered word, Ambassador Al-Hadid said: We are honored today to receive the second international convoy organized by Jordan in cooperation with a number of brotherly and friendly countries, including the Kingdom of Spain and Oxfam. This is the third convoy as part of the international humanitarian bridge, and the fourth since the outbreak of the war. It consists of 18 trucks loaded with relief supplies and medical equipment.
For his part, Ambassador de Lucas explained that the humanitarian initiative in which Spain is participating includes around 2,250 boxes of cooking utensils, intended for approximately 11,250 displaced persons, aiming to provide the minimum basic needs for preparing food under difficult conditions.
Brigadier General Bassam Al-Naboulsi, in turn, thanked King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for this initiative, emphasizing that Lebanon’s true wealth lies in its friends and brothers who stand by it through the various crises it faces. Al-Naboulsi also welcomed the Spanish ambassador, praising the humanitarian support and cooperation provided to Lebanon.
Al-Naboulsi pointed out that the convoy will head to Rayak Air Base, where the aid will be sorted before being distributed by the Higher Relief Commission to the displaced persons across various regions in Lebanon.
