Discussions focused on protecting Lebanese workers’ rights, adjusting wages, improving working conditions and regulating the labor market amid difficult economic circumstances.
The delegation stressed the need to balance the financial sustainability of tourism establishments with the protection of employees’ rights.
In a separate meeting, Haidar received a delegation from the Municipal Workers Association, headed by Wajdi Al-Taqi and accompanied by legal and labor adviser Issam Ridan.
The meeting addressed proposed legislation extending National Social Security Fund benefits to municipal wage earners.
The delegation emphasized that permanent municipal staff should be excluded from the proposed law, as they are already governed by Decree No. 112 regulating public employees.
