Maronite Patriarch Al-Rai Calls For Prayers As Pope Leo XIV Undergoes Lung Surgery
Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rai called on members of the Maronite Church worldwide to unite in prayer for Pope Leo XIV, who is undergoing lung surgery.
In a statement issued by the Maronite Patriarchate’s General Secretariat, Al-Rai urged bishops, priests, monks, nuns and the faithful in Lebanon, across the patriarchal territory and throughout the diaspora to pray for the pontiff.
The patriarch expressed hope that the surgery would be successful and that Pope Leo XIV would make a swift and complete recovery.
