Bassil: They were humiliated, while we stood with dignity
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Gebran Bassil wrote on X:
We are commemorating October 13, 1990, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to draw a link between the two dates. The first was military in nature, while the second was economic. Both targeted Baabda Palace, the seat of legitimacy, in an attempt to undermine the Free Patriotic Movement’s principles of freedom, sovereignty and independence. Both times, they were humiliated while we stood with dignity, and we persevered. We continue this year with 1,211 new members joining the movement.
