The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Guidance issued the following statement:
An army unit destroyed cannabis crops covering an area of approximately 60 dunums (60,000 square meters) in the town of Al-Knaisseh, Baalbek. It also arrested 17 Syrian workers who lacked legal documentation and seized the equipment they were using to harvest the cannabis.
The seized items were handed over, and investigations into the detainees were launched under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
