A Targeted Operation Leads To The Arrest Of A Wanted Man… Here’s How He Stole From Cars!
Lebanese Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
Recently, thefts from vehicles have increased in several areas across Lebanon. The perpetrator, whose identity was initially unknown, would break car windows and steal whatever valuables he found inside, including personal belongings, bags, cash, electronic devices and other items.
Following extensive inquiries and investigations, the Information Branch identified the suspect as:
A. R. (born in 1971, Lebanese).
He has a criminal record for theft, theft from vehicles, drug-related offenses and pickpocketing. Two judicial arrest warrants have also been issued against him for theft.
On September 21, 2026, following careful surveillance and monitoring, a branch patrol arrested him in a targeted operation in Hazmieh while he was riding a silver Speed 150cc motorcycle without license plates, which was seized. A search of the suspect and the motorcycle uncovered tools used to break car windows and carry out thefts, a mask, a mobile phone and an amount of cash.
During questioning, he confessed to carrying out dozens of thefts from vehicles after breaking their windows in several areas of Mount Lebanon and in Saida, including Jounieh, Faraya, Sin El Fil, Baabda, Jamhour, Sabnay, Mkalles and Saida.
The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was handed over, along with the seized items, to the relevant authority in accordance with the instructions of the judiciary.
