Derian reaffirms Dar al-Fatwa’s support for Al-Makassed, urges Islamic unity
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian attended a meeting of Al-Makassed Islamic Charitable Association’s Board of Trustees, chaired by Diana Tabbarah.
Tabbarah announced the association’s decision to seek postponement of court proceedings involving the Islamic Orphanages Association to facilitate an amicable settlement.
Derian welcomed the initiative, stressing the importance of protecting both institutions and preserving their educational, healthcare and charitable missions.
He reaffirmed Dar al-Fatwa’s support for Al-Makassed and called for unity among Lebanon’s Islamic institutions.
The meeting also reviewed Al-Makassed schools’ religious education programs and developments at its hospital.
