Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) arrested a man suspected of stealing air conditioner compressors from several locations across southern Lebanon, the ISF’s Public Relations Division said in a statement.
The ISF’s Information Branch received intelligence indicating that an unidentified individual had been stealing outdoor air conditioning units in several areas of the south. The latest incident occurred on the night of September 28, 2026, when a restaurant in the town of Zefta was targeted.
Following inquiries and investigations, the branch identified the suspect as a Lebanese national, identified by his initials as A.H., born in 1992.
On the same day, an Information Branch patrol spotted him in the town of Msayleh driving a white pickup truck without license plates. He was arrested, and a search of the suspect and the vehicle uncovered three air conditioning compressors and a quantity of cannabis.
During questioning, the suspect confessed to carrying out around four similar thefts, as well as stealing an electric generator. The incidents took place in Zefta, Nabatieh, Msayleh and Deir al-Zahrani. He also admitted to using cannabis.
The suspect was referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action, in accordance with judicial instructions.
