Religious scholar Sayyed Ali Fadlallah held a dialogue at the Islamic Cultural Center in Haret Hreik, addressing questions on recent developments in Lebanon and the region.
Fadlallah stressed that Islam firmly rejects injustice, saying that confronting it requires both faith in divine justice and continued efforts to resist oppression rather than surrendering to it.
On the situation in southern Lebanon, he welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit to Nabatieh, calling for stronger government support for residents and greater state presence in the south. He urged authorities to intensify diplomatic efforts to address the destruction and attacks affecting the region.
Fadlallah also called for national unity, warning that problems affecting any Lebanese community ultimately affect the entire country.
On the banking crisis, he said any solution should protect depositors’ rights, restore confidence in the banking sector and hold accountable those responsible for the crisis.
He also encouraged organ donation as an important humanitarian act and, regarding the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, called on Iraqis to remain united and protect the country’s security and stability.
